Happy 2009

Happy New Year Everyone!
All the excitement of the holidays is over and so is school vacation. I am a little sad about this, but at the same time I am anxious to get back to school. I love having time off, but I also like the structure my life has when I get up and go to school every day. For those of you that are sad about vacation being over here is something to think about...only 6 weeks until february vacation. Now what is really making me sad is not the fact that vacation is over, but the fact that the Patriots had a record of 11-5 and they are not in the playoffs. It upsets me that they are out with 11 wins and a team is in with only 8 wins. Something is wrong with that. I think I am going to have to cheer for the Giants this year.

Mrs. Taylor, even though school does give structure and a sense of schedule, and the fact that February vacation is in six weeks, remember that midterms are coming up and we, the students, are only going to encounter more and more rigor each day! Sorry to be negative, but I am just not loving junior year! Happy New Year anyways..

I will definitely be counting down the days until February vacation. Unfortunately, I'll be getting my wisdom teeth out over February vacation, so the timeoff will be bittersweet. I'm also upset about the Pat's missing the playoffs despite their solid season.

Happy New Year! I agree with Kevin that midterms make january very stressful. I always have a concert that week and we all try to study while the conductor's not looking. It is nice that when those are done we have feb vaca.

I am sad about the Pats but it is their own fault for losing to division rivals jets and dolphins. They should have stepped it up and at least should have won one of those games and then they would not have had to rely on other teams. But as long there are still sports on t.v. I am happy. I cannot wait for SPRING TRAINING!!!

Aaron, you sound like me. "As long as there are sports on TV I am happy" I am looking forward to spring training and the Daytona 500 in February.

I think I'm with kevin on that one haha...but like Sam i might be getting my wisdom teeth out over February vacation or April vacation so in a way im not looking forward to that either! I know exactly what you mean about the structure school gives to one's life and I agree but I have to much to worry about this year to enjoy school...I agree with your choice for the Giants though!

I'm so sad holiday break is over! Even though it was pretty long, it went by very quickly. January is one of the hardest months of the year with midterms and all the other assignments. Hopefully February vacation will come fast!

I agree with everything you said Mrs. Taylor! I'm mostly mad that vacation is over because now I have to wake up early again, haha. And the whole Patriots situation... yeah not so much. I'm not too happy

I enjoy the vacations from school alot. Getting to sleep in, relax, and hang out with friends is great. It gives you some stress relief from the tons of schoolwork you leave that is ready for you when you get back. Not to mention the awaiting midterms. I have to agree with Kevin that junior year is really difficult and alot of hardwork. But with some vacation time we'll get through it.

I have to agree with Kevin, while february vacacation is promising, there is a lot going on before then, with midterms and what not. I was really sad about the Patriots too I thought they deserved to make it, but they won their game so there was really nothing else they cvould do :(

I was slightly dissapointed this weekend watching football knowing that the Patriots werent involved. I also can not wait to get through midterms they are always the worst.

I'm also sad that the Pats lost, but at least the Celtics and Bruins are making up for it! I enjoyed vacation, but it got a little boring after a while. I guess I can take another 6 weeks of school until the next vacation. :)

I'm also not to happy about the pats not being in the play offs this year. My birthday is in 6 weeks! I did not realise that until I read this; it's over february vacation every year. I agree with kevin... midterms AH! but I'm also happy to be in a routine again.

Kevin, its ok, I feel the same way. Junior year is pretty difficult! However, February vaca is only weeks away and once we get over midterms, I think we'll be good!.....for the time being. stay positive! :)

As for the Patriots, Aaron's right; they definately should've stepped it up against their rivals. Well, there's nothing we can do now.. we'll just have to wait for next year.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of structure. I'd rather just take life as it comes without scheduling and not stress out about whats coming next (like midterms); however, that's probably the reason why I'm so unorganized... On the otherhand, I'm proud of the Patriots even though they didn't quite make it into the playoffs. They had a winning season without Brady, which i believe proved to New England that the Patriots are MORE than just Tom Brady.

It is a little disappointing that the Patriots didn't make the playoffs. I don't watch a lot of sports, so this was the first time I have heard of it.

I will not be cheering for the Giants despite the Pats not making the playoffs. I would much rather see the Titans win.

I appologize, so much for the Giants. The celtics are in a slump the bruins are doing well and come playoff time I will be on the bandwagon but for now I only have one thing to say, "LET'S GO RED SOX!!!" February 14, pitchers and catchers report!!! 34 days and counting!!

I agree with everyone, it's sad that the Pats lost even though they did a good job without Brady. I'm really excited for spring training though!

I have agree with Taylor. It was cool to see how great the team still was without Brady. You can't blame not making the playoffs all on Cassel though. Stepping up in Brady's place is a lot of pressure and I think he did a pretty good job. And on the hockey front, I'm pretty sure the Bruins are headed for the playoffs. I cant wait to watch even though I'm really disappointed in my Buffalo Sabres.

Happy New Year! I love vacation but I do like coming back to school and seeing everyone who I didn't get a chance to see over the break. But I definately can't wait for February vacation and until midterms are over!

Jess is absolutely correct. I cannot wait until midterms are over. They are such an unnecessary stress on my life.

I miss vacation, everything was stress-free and I didn't have to worry about getting up early for school or doing any school assignments. But, school does give the day structure which I like; however, I really don't like being at school other than seeing everyone I didn't get to see over vacation, like Jess said. And I have to agree with Liz that this year is a downer since the Pats didn't make it which is a weird thing to think about.

What a bummer that the Patriots didn't make the play off with 11 wins! I mean, this is the SECOND time in NFL history a team didn't make the play offs with 11 wins! Talk about jipped...
As for the new year, it should be pretty busy. This year will probably be one of our most important in our lives. But hey, I think I am ready for it!

I agree with Kevin, midterms are really stressful, and on top of that, I have a test the Tuesday of midterms, then that midterm 2 days later! I also agree with Sam, and I really am counting down the days till February vacation.
I also have to say that there is something wrong with the Pats not getting into the playoffs. I think the NFL needs to rethink how they did that. It will be upsetting not being able to root for the Pats in the Superbowl.

I agree with Marie, I totally miss break, and am not really enjoying being back in school. I am, however, glad about the upcoming midterm for one reason, and that is that it marks the half-way point through the school year!! I an glad that we have February break to look forward to.

I am also stressed for midterms and wish I hadn't waited so long to start studying. :( I'm excited for this year though because it means we're that much closer to being seniors and graduating! :)

Don't get discouraged, Mrs. Taylor. The Pats were jipped by the messed up play-off system. There's always next year!

Anonymous said...

I agree with you that there is something wrong with a team that has less wins can get to the play-offs
