Where does the time go?

When you have a long weekend, do you ever think "This is great. I'll spend this time catching up"? When I left school on Friday I was so excited to have a three day weekend. I thought I could have the extra time to get caught up on things. Well it is already Monday and I have not done one thing that I thought I would do. I wanted to get caught up on some correcting and make some extra practice sheets to post on edline. I also needed to get some things done around my house. None of that got done. Saturday My daughter had a double header for marching band competitions so there was a 1:00 show in Dartmouth and a 6pm show in New Bedford. I am happy to report that her school, King Philip, won both competitions. When I arrived home Saturday night I stayed up to watch the late Red Sox game. Depressing that we lost, but I’ll get over it. Then Sunday my son had a baseball game, which his team won. They are 5-1 overall this fall. When I got home from that I did manage to do one thing around the house, but no school work. Now it is Monday and I am leaving here in about 3 hours to go into Boston. I have tickets to todays game at 4:30. I’m very excited to be going to a playoff game! So much for me catching up on things this weekend.

I definitely agree. I wanted to get so much class officers stuff done this weekend, but hey, I didn't! Oh well.

But, have fun at the game! GO SOX!

I am sorry for your sad journey home. Its just a slump. Sox are going 3 straight to take the ALCS so I am just saying that now.

I also expected to get more done than I did. I went camping from Saturday to Monday morning, and here I am doing homework I thought I would be able to do earlier.

Aaron, you were correct. It was a sad sad journey home from Boston. I can not believe how bad we lost. The crowd never got excited at that game. It was one of the more depressing games I have ever gone to. Usually the entire crowd is singing Sweet Caroline in the 8th inning. I think I was only one of a handul that sang at the game. Oh well, there's always tonight.

At least the game was early and you didnt come home from a loss at like 1 in the morning.

Oh man...
I can't believe the Sox! What is going on with them? I hope you're right Aaron. We can still rally!

Everyone should read the blog Mr. Paulus has regarding the RedSox. Leave your comments on his blog and I will be sure to read them.

Yeah I always try to plan out my homework for the weekend and it never works out the way I want. I'm dissapointed the sox are out of the playoffs now, but at least I won't be up really late watching them anymore.

I know im a little late to comment but i figured why not. I know exactly how you feel. i always think cool i can have saturday to myself and save my work till sunday or monday, but it seems to me that 3 day weekends go by faster then the normal saturday and sunday.

I have to agree. On weekends I think I have plenty of time to do everything that I need to get done but by Sunday night I find myself staying up late to finish homework I wished I had done earlier. I'm usually spending time with friends that I really never see during school, and I also like to relax since the school week is just really stressful. I'd rather spend two days relaxing and catching up on sleep instead of worry about school work all week long.

I usually plan to finish my homework early on the weekends so that I don't have to worry about it on sunday night but I always find myself staying up late on sunday night to finish everything. I have so much to do on the weekends and I like to relax too so I never end up getting my homework done on time.

I agree with Sam. I try planning my homework more spaced out so I can leave some extra time in to have fun. However I just have fun all weekend and leave the homework for Monday. It stinks that the Sox are out, but it's ok because we won last year.

Weekends always seem like the perfect time to get ahead in homework, clean my room, etc but I always end up doing other things. Usually it's been a long week at school and I really just want to relax and have fun on the weekends. I find its much easier to just get as much done as I can when I feel like working and getting ahead, so I can be a little lazy later :)

Time always flies by for me. Like Marie, I always think I have more time then I really do on the weekend, and before I know it, it's Sunday night, and I have to rush to get everything done for Monday. It is really stressful to always have deadlines to meet, and things to get done.

I like to think that I have time to catch up on the weekends, telling myself, "ah, I don't have to do this just yet, I have the ENTIRE weekend..." unfortunately I NEVER actually have time when the weekend come along. Usually something always comes up like a birthday party or spontaneous friends... the weekend is fun while it lasts, but when 8 o'clock sunday night suddenly sneaks up on ya... its not too pleasant.

Every weekend I always think that I'll have enough time to get caught up on things like homework and long terms, but that never happens. It seems like there's just too much to do and not enough time. With my ballet and school work, and trying to have a life, I feel like a weekend, even with an extra day, is never enough time.

I agree the weekend doesn't last long enough! I usually don't end up doing anything productive until Sunday night when I finally decide to do my homework. Most of my time is spent relaxing from the busy week before and stressing out about the week ahead. Now that I think about it, a 4 day school week doesn't sound so bad after all! :p

I completely agree. Whenever we have three day weekends I put my work off all weekend thinking to myself that I have a whole extra day to get it done. Then its Monday nigth and I'm just starting to do whatever I needed to so the extra day didn't really make a difference.

I also completely agree with never seeming to have enough tim during a three day weekend. It always seems like it should be longer than it is.

I know its a bit of a late post, but i have to agree that the weekend never lasts nearly long enough. Its obvious that time really does fly because Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are gone before you know it after you have done so many fun, along with some not so fun, things. By the time Monday comes on those awesome 3 day weekends, we have a pile of procrastination to deal with. I need to work on balancing time better so I'm not left with a to do list a mile long on Sunday or Monday nights.

I agree, it's so hard to get anything done when you know you have extra time to do it. The only time I ever have my work done before the last day in a three day weekend is if we get a Monday off because of a snow day. =/

This weekend is going to fly by.

I ask myself this question every single day! It's crazy how quickly time can go by!

It feels like we've been in school for much longer than 2 1/2 weeks.
