Wow, the first week of school is over. Anyone else tired? It was a short week and I am so tired. I'm ready to go to bed for the night and it is only 6:30. This happens to me every year. My body is so used to being relaxed all the time and now I am on the go from 5:45am until this time at night. I shouldn't be complaining because most teenagers, if they are anything like my children, are on the go more than me. My daughter gets off the school bus at 3:00, does homework, eats dinner and is back at school for color guard by 5pm. She gets home from that at 9pm and goes back to homework. Hopefully is asleep by 11:00 only to get up at 6am and start all over again. Thank goodness the youth have so much energy. I need a little energy myself right now to go outside and pick up all the small items that may blow away when the storm Hanna comes through this area tomorrow. One thing you may not know about me is that I love the weather. I watch the weather channel for fun and I check www.we...
April is math awareness month
We all know that I get carried away with the weather. Especially in the winter with the snow storms. Well today I realized that I am not alone with interest in the weather. The month of April is considered math awareness month and a theme has been chosen for this year. "The American Mathematical Society, the American Statistical Association, the Mathematical Association of America, and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics announce that the theme for Mathematics Awareness Month, April 2009, is Mathematics and Climate." I took that quote from the web site http://www.mathaware.org/ . You should check it out some time. I am sure that we will incorporate some weather activities into our class in the month of April. If you have any ideas, let me know.

I can't go to the mall to Christmas Shop, or go to any of the concerts I usually go to!
TV specials....those I'm getting a little too much of!

But i do agree with brin when he said that x-mas should be everyday. I DO LOVE PRESENTS!
opps, sorry, my bad
We actually just put up our fake tree yesterday. It's really pretty because it's near the windows and the mirrors, so when you come down the stairs at night, all you see is lights reflecting everywhere. Our tree really puts me in the holiday spirit.
And i guess its also the time of forgeting to put your name on your blog comment. So how about that wonderful gift of not assigning us that project??? that would be a delightful gift for the entire class im assuming.
I also prefer fake trees because I think they're less dangerous. The other time we had a real tree one of the needles scratched my dad's eyeball and he had to go to the emergency room.
I just saw Ravi's comment and I'm going to disagree with him about the upcoming project. I think it will be fun!
