I can't believe I have gone so long without a word on my blog. Sorry about that. My last blog was about the book we all read and this blog is related to that as well. In 3 weeks, on April 21st, the Boston marathon will take place. This year Mr. Taylor is running in the marathon with Lance Armstrong to raise money and awareness of cancer and treatments. Mr. Taylor needs to raise $3500 for the Lance Armstrong foundation and he needs our help. You can visit the web site
to see Mr. Taylor's donation page and maybe you or someone you know can make a donation. I am excited about the marathon. I love to watch the race and this year it will be more enjoyable because I will know two people running. The two Mr. Taylor's (Mr. Taylor the English teacher and Mr. Taylor my husband). You all know how much of a sports fan I am, marathons included, so you know I am counting down the days until I make the trip to Newton. I already have my spot picked out at mile 16.5 and then I plan to take the T from Newton into Boston by the time the guys cross the finish line. I imagine most of my students are looking forward to the 21st of April as well. You may not be excited about the marathon, but that is the start of April vacation!

It's so cool that you have a family member running in the marathon! I agree with Jackie, running with Lance Armstrong is an amazing opportunity. Not everyone has the ability to run alongside a world class athlete and raise money for a foundation at the same time!

Both Mr. Taylor and your husband should be commended for their fortitude and selflessness. I hadn't realized that Mr. Taylor was going be running directly with Lance Armstrong---I thought he was simply raising money for the Livestrong Foundation. But like Jackie and Michelle said, that's amazing!

I have to agree with Jackie, that is a great opportunity for Mr. Taylor to be running with Lance Armstrong! Also, its awesome that your husband will also be running and you can be his fan for the day cheering him on. Good luck to both the Taylors!

Like Michelle said it is really cool that you have a family member running in the marathon. My cousin ran a few years ago and it was really cool so good luck to your husband. Also it is so cool for Mr. Taylor to be able to run with Lance Armstrong, it is such a awwesome opprotunity to take part in such a strenuous event with such a world class athlete.

I also think that it is truly amazing that you know two people running. Personally, i think that both Mr. Taylor's can beat Lance, but since its his race, might as well let him take the gold.

I can't say I'm excited for the marathon because its not really my area of interest. However vacation is very much my area of interest and I cannot wait!:)

Good luck to the Taylors in the race however.

I am excited for both school vaca and the marathon. I also know of another person my cousins girlfriend who runs every year and now my other cousins wife is joining her. To know so many people so enthused about this race is amazing. Also, I strongly believe what Mr. Taylor is trying to do in raising money and awareness is spectacular. Good luck to both Taylors, and enjoy watching!

I think that its great that Mr. Taylor will run with Lance, except i will feel bad for him when Mr Taylor wins the race. lol, jk. And i bet that your husband has been doing a ton of training in order to run that. I was wondering if it was his first time, or has he done it before? also, i hope to someday run in the Boston Marathon, and maybe join the Mr. Taylors and Lance, lol.

I was so proud of my students on Monday when Mr. Taylor came in to talk about his running for the Livestrong foundation. He asked for donations and everyone gave money. Some gave quite a bit. I was proud of how selfless my class was. It makes me even more excited about the marathon. Mr. Taylor has run Boston before so I am sure he will have a good race. My husband has run 4 other marathons, but this is his first Boston so wish him luck. I need mother nature to cooperate and give me weather that I can sit out in for hours.

This is probably the first time that I have been actually interested in the Boston Marathon, for the reason being that I know some people in it. I did watch pieces of it on tv last year, but this year is even better. I think that running for this cause is such a great thing for all to partake in. Everyone in some way has been touched by cancer, and this is a great opportunity to do something about it. I hopefully will be a runner as I get older and maybe I will run in it someday. Best of luck to both Taylors and Lance and I hope the weather works out for you, Mrs. Taylor, being such a good fan.

Like Brianna said, I'm defintely more interested in the Marathon this year because I know people who are actually running. However, I was looking up the weather for Monday, and it wasn't looking so great -- high 50's and raining. Let's hope the weatherman's wrong-- it'll be a dreary way to watch/run the marathon, not to mention start off April vacation!
